Clear, under the Edit menu, will clear the active text field without deleting it. To delete rather than clear a text field, click on the field in the Template window, to make it the active field, and select Templates menu, Delete Field.
Note: Database Fields can not be deleted and you will be prompted to hide the database field instead.
